A Doggies Paradise!....
We are totally pet friendly and welcome dogs in
our hotel.However, guest frequently comment that one of the reasons they keep returning is the extreme cleanliness of the bedrooms. We do not charge for pets but they MUST be kept on leads throughout
the hotel areas and follow our considerate guide lines, which enables us to
provide a unique and safe venue for you and your pets.
Please make sure you bring your pet bed or a blanket for them to sleep on and ensure they are brushed. Pets may sleep in your accommodation with you and may also dine with you in the bar area. We have the same superb menu in both the restaurant and bar.
The Guest bedrooms are only a short distance from the residents entrance and so very convenient for 'popping' out in the night with your pet! We provide facilities to hang up dog towels and store Wellies and boots in the residents accommodation entrance - not that it ever rains at Bolberry Down! We now have an outdoor washing facility for your pets should they get muddy or salty from the sea. A pet food fridge is provided in the residents entrance should you wish to store fresh pet food. We ask guests not to leave pets in their bedrooms when they are not on the hotel site.
The
Port Light is surrounded by acres of National Trust coastal countryside with
a 20 acre National Trust field bordering the hotel gardens, ideal for walking
pets at any time of the day or night! There are several local beaches which
allow pets, the nearest two are just 20 minutes walk away along the magnificent
South West coastal path. Hope Cove beach has a wide expanse of sand at low tide
whilst Soar Mill Cove in the opposite direction is a secluded "hidden" beach
and well worth a visit.
Our facilities and pet hospitality is unique and unmatched by any other hotel offering pet holiday accommodation in Devon. So much so we have been featured in the Daily Mail, Sunday Express, Telegraph, Dogs Today, Your Dog and also many good guides. 'Out of season' is an ideal time to visit us as the mornings are crisp, the wood burner is ablaze in the evenings and guests can exchange pet stories over wonderful dishes created by our expert chef David Singline.
